Friend of Foreign Language Award
Given at the LECNY-NYSAFLT Regional meeting in November. This award is given to a person, group, organization or business in our community that has made a contribution that shows support of learning about other languages and cultures. Past winners are: Women Transcending Boundaries 2010, La Familia Salsa 2008, Syracuse International Film Festival 2007, Ste. LECNY Teacher Classroom Grant
This grant is awarded to a teacher to apply towards classroom projects, club formations or other special projects. The grant money cannot be applied to conference registration fees or foreign travel expenses. $100 is presented to the winning teacher at the SUPER LECNY conference in February. Shoudy Scholarship
The Henry C. and Dorothy R. Shoudy Memorial Scholarship was established in memoriam of Dorothy and her passion and dedication for teaching a world language. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior in the Syracuse City School District or Jamesville-DeWitt School District who is pursuing a career in Spanish and/or world language education. An $1,700 scholarship is presented to the winner at the May LECNY Celebration. Click on the Shoudy Scholarship form to nominate a student.

Senior Award
Awarded annually to a graduating senior who has successfully completed multiple years of foreign language study and has a love for learning languages. An $100 scholarship is presented to the winner at the May LECNY Celebration. The nominating teacher must be a current LECNY member. Click on the Student Scholarship Application to nominate a student. A quantitative rubric is used to judge the entries.
